Singapore sends oxygen cylinders to support India's fight against Covid-19

 The Singapore government has sent a transfer of oxygen chambers to help India's Covid-19 pandemic reaction, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday. 

The Republic of Singapore Air Force is shipping the chambers on board two C-130 airplane from Singapore to West Bengal, as per a report by the Channel News Asia. 

Second Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Maliki Osman gave over the two planeloads of oxygen chambers to India's High Commissioner P Kumaran at Paya Lebar Air Base on Wednesday morning.Live TV

"We have all seen in the previous year how this pandemic is a transboundary danger," Maliki said at the airbase. 

"It gives no respect for nation, ethnicity or race. This is actually why we should work altogether to help one another," the Channel cited him. 

Singapore and India share a cozy relationship, Maliki said, saying thanks to the Indian government for proceeding to work with Singapore all through the pandemic by "keeping supply chains open and fundamental merchandise streaming". 

"While our commitment is humble, we trust that it will get solace and alleviation to those need and empower those on the forefront in India, who are working indefatigably, to battle on." 

"I have most likely that the battling soul of the Indian public will win," Maliki said. 

Singapore's venture firm Temasek has additionally sent clinical gear while Tata Group gave four cryogenic oxygen chambers sourced from Singapore. That transfer arrived in West Bengal over the course of the end of the week.
